Russell Bates Resigns

Appearently Mr. Bates chose his resignation date very carefully to avoid a special election for his successor. Due to the timing of Mr. Bates' letter the residents of Ward 3 will not get the opportunity to choose their own representation. Instead the Democrat party will offer names of 3 people to fill Mr. Bates' seat. The governing body will then choose and vote on one of the names presented. Mr. Bates simply "pulled a McGREEDY". In this case, it is not for the people and by the people. Are you surprized?
