UNofficially Winslow Receives E-mail from B.O.E. Member

Below is the text of an email received by UNofficially Winslow. In the opinion of UNofficially Winslow some details of the text are not correct. UNofficially Winslow is posting this email to promote the budget meeting as indicated by the B.O.E. member.

Budget presentation at Winslow Middle School Dear Business Association members and friends of Winslow Township, Please mark March 27, 2013 as a very important date this year in the fiscal accoungtability of township.

Winslow Township School District will present its 2013-2014 operating budget at Winslow Township Middle School cafeteria at 7-00 pm. Please do not forget that it is all your hard earned money that is involved. The district does not create any money by itself. For every penny, they have, they put their hand into your pocket without your permission. Every student in our district costs approximately $20,000/year, wether he or she learns anything or not.

If you feel that the children in township schools are learning as they should be, then the money is well spent, but if you think that the children are not being properly educated, then you have every right to be MAD and complain like hell. To do just that you must come to the meeting and complain. Because, if you do not complain, the administration will feel that you are satisfied with district's performance and they will continue on their usual course and continue taking your money, a little more every year.

I personally am not satisfied with our student achievement, but I am only one voice whistling in the dark. We need a lot more community members and parents, who care about what goes on in our district. If you do not stand up for what is right, we will continue on a downward spiral. Our property values will just continue going down. After all no body wants to live in a town with a failing school district. I believe that " As go our schools, so goes our town". Please let us be proud citizens of our township and help it achieve its full potential. In short let us show up in force and hold the feet of administration to fire. Please tell them in no uncertain terms that we hold them accountable for our township's well being or not so well being.

Any questions, please call me at 856-728-5555. Best regards, Gulab Gidwani;School board member, member of Economic Development Council: President, Winslow Township Business Association and a friend of our Township community.
